Registration

In order to participate in the Solar H2Ottawa initiative, registration is required. Sustainable Ottawa's current funding will only cover the first 250 systems. The registration system is used to ensure that we track the number of systems being installed and also to be sure we can follow up with members to determine whether they are happy with their systems.

Important: It is you – the property owner – who decides what types of upgrades or retrofits you wish to undertake. You are responsible for choosing a contractor and for ensuring that the work is performed properly. It is important that you get a detailed written contract between you and your contractor in order to prevent problems later on. Sustainable Ottawa does not assess the quality of the work performed and is not responsible or liable for warrantying systems or problems that may result for any reason, including faulty equipment or poor installation.

To learn more about your rights and how to protect yourself, the Consumer Protection Branch of the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services has a very useful and helpful website at: http://www.gov.on.ca/mgs/. Follow the links to Consumer Protection and Your Home.
